Facilities.
Peveril currently use our own facility at the Slieau Lhost Small Arms Range, the entrance of which is approximately 150 yards south of Windy Corner on the Mountain Road (A18).
Slieau Lhost was built in a disused quarry and was first used competitively for the 2000 Millennium Federation Championships. His Excellency The Lieutenant Governor Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen CB, OBE Queen Elizabeth II & Lord of Man's representative on the Island officially opened the facility on the 27th May 2001 prior to our hosting the cartridge pistol events for the 2001 Island Games.
The small arms facility at Slieau Lhost consists of two ranges, a 50 metre and 25 metre range, both have 20 firing points and have turning targets. The facility is approximatly 1500 feet above sea level so it can be cold; normally some 3/5 degree celsius below the temperature at sea level.
The Committee decided at the last meeting (30/04/08) that the range will be open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the summer, and will also be opening on Wednesday afternoons..
